10 Day Expedition of Ghana

PROPOSED TEN DAYS SOUTHERN GHANA TOUR PACKAGE Designed to give our clients a real insight into the ecological, historical and cultural background of southern Ghana.

Cost: $ 1500 Including four star facilities.

Guests are responsible for their own meals and extras. We will recommend good restaurants. Dela would pick you up on your arrival and take you to your hotel. You would need to arrive at least a day before the expedition starts. Also Dela will drop you at the airport for your departure.


Day 1. (a) Arrival at Kotoka International Airport (b) Travel to the Volta Regional capital Ho.

Day 2. (a) Enjoyment of a local community traditional music and dance performance (b) Drive around Volta Regional capital Ho, including a visit to Ghana’s highest human settlement, Amedzofe and the peak of the second highest mountain in Ghana, Mt Gemi with clear views of beautiful landscapes including towns and villages.

Day 3. Visits to, (a) Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, Where you will experience a friendly welcome by the co-existence of sacred Mona monkeys and the people of Tafi Atome village (b) Wli waterfall. The highest billed waterfall in West Africa and second in Africa, also making a difference with its huge pool under the falls where you may like to take a dip or cavort under the pounding waterfalls for hours, with rainbow colors circling in the pool, especially on sunny days.

 

Day 4. Visits to, (a) Ghana’s main eastern border with Togo, at Afloa. (b) Beautiful beach scenes of eastern flank of Ghana and the largest lagoon in Ghana. Keta Lagoon. (c) A Cruise at the Volta Estuary, Ada. Where the Volta River formally part of the largest manmade lake in the world Lake Volta, join the Atlantic Ocean. Before the creation of Ghana’s electricity dam at Akosombo.

Day 5. (a) Experience the walk on Africa’s number one canopy walkway at Kakum national park.

 

(b) A visit to Ghana’s main slave Castles at Cape Coast and Elmina.

 

Day 6. Travel to Axim with stops at the Western Regional capital, Takoradi. And Busua beach resorts.

Day 7. Visits to (a) Nzulezu, the most famous stilt village in Ghana.

(b) Nkroful, Ghana’s first President, the late Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s home.

Day 8. Travel to Accra with an (optional) stop at Princess town or Cape three point where beautiful beaches of western Ghana are exhibited.

Day 9. Visits to (a) Accra museum (b) Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s mausoleum (c) Makola. The biggest market place in Ghana (d) Accra Cultural centre, the largest cultural market in Ghana where you can find art and craft works from various cultural backgrounds in Ghana and other parts of Africa as souvenirs, also for friends and relatives back home.

Day 10. Relax at Ghana’s biggest beach resorts. Labadi beach resorts Accra. As you wait to catch your airplane.

Four Day Tour of Kumasi (leaving from Accra)

Day 1. Depart Accra for Kumasi and stay at Four Villages Inn.

Day 2. Visit Kejetia Market, Centre for National Culture, Bonwire, Adangowase and Ntonso.

Day 3. Manhyia palace and Lake Bosomtwi.

Day 4. Depart Kumasi for Accra or for the north.


Seven Day Tour of Eastern Ghana

The seven day tour of Eastern Ghana is a combination of some of the day tours.

Day 1. Kpetoe Agotime is a small town, close to the Togo border, is reknown throughout Ghana for the quality of its kente weavers. Two types of cloth are made in Kpetoe; the light and popular Ashanti kente and the more durable Ewe agbamevor. Modern kente is characterised by intricately woven and richly colourful geometric designs. The first day, we will visit the Kpetoe Kente Weaving Centre where we will be able to see the weavers making the kente cloth. Drumming and dancing at Ho. Overnight at the Ho Chances Hotel which is a three star hotel and has won several regional and national awards.

Day 2. Today we leave early to visit the Tafi Atome monkey sanctuary and Village. We will stop in Hohoe for refreshments and to visit a place to buy wood carvings. We will have a picnic lunch at the Wli waterfall where we will be able to cool off with a dip in the pool below the falls . Overnight at the Hohoe Matvin Hotel which has a large landscaped garden bar overlooking the small Dayi River where you can relax with a cold drink after a wonderful day!

Day 3. Liati Wote/Mountain Afadzato and Tagbo falls. Overnight at the Ho Chances Hotel.

Day 4. Amedzofe. Gemi Mountain /waterfall, and old German missionary cemetery. Overnight at the Ho Chances Hotel.

Day 5. Aflao, Keta, Volta Estuary. Rest at Manet Paradise. Ada. Overnight at the Sogakofe Hotel Sinceneros.

Day 6. Sogakofe Health Spa and Ostrich farm. Overnight at the Riviera Beach Hotel, Accra.

Day 7. Kokrobite or La pleasure beach. Markola, Main market in Accra and Art centre. End. Overnight at the Riviera Beach Hotel.


 

Seven day tour of Western Ghana

Day 1. Mankesim Posuban shrine. Anomabu Castle and Anomabu Beach Resort. Cape Coast and Elmina Castles. Overnight at the Savoy Hotel, Cape Coast.

Day 2. Hans Cottage, Kakum National Park and Wassa Domama rock shrine. Overnight at the Hans Cottage Bottel or the Savoy Hotel.

Day 3. Busua and Butre beach scenes. Overnight at the Busua Beach Resort or the African Rainbow Hotel.

Day 4. Nzulezu stilt village. Overnight at the Axim Beach Resort.

Day 5. Elubo/Half Asini. Ghana /Ivory Coast main border. Overnight at the B & Q Hotel. Nkroful is Ghana's first president's home town where we will also visit his Tomb.

Day 6. Rest/and overnight at the Elmina Beach Resort.

Day 7. Gomoa Fete White Sand Beach Resort. Accra Makola/Art Centre. Overnight at the Riviera Beach Hotel.

 


Nine day tour of Northern Ghana

DAY 1. Lake Bosomtwi. overnight at Kumasi at the NOKS Hotel or the Cathering Rest House.

DAY 2. Tano Boase sacred groove(Rock formations) Kintampo waterfalls. Overnight at Mole National Park in the Mole National Park Hotel.

 

DAY 3. Mole National Park walk and visit Larabanga Mosque. Overnight at Mole Park.

 
 
 

DAY 4. Tamale cultural centre.Tongo low mountains and rock formations. Overnight at Bolgatanga in the Comci Comsa or the Bulenga Princess hotels.

DAY 5. Around Bolgatanga and visit Bongo Baobab and rock formations. Overnight at Bolgatanga .
